I'm sure he's a decent enough guy, and I quite liked him as a ref, but whatever the run in was, it's not his first.

15 years or so as a high profile referee, he's probably had to put up with his fair share of grief from 'fans' giving him verbals away from matches. I very much doubt (referring to the rumours) that he was an instigator in any incident.

Which ref was it who sometimes went off on one giving penalties every 2 minutes for practically nothing and everyone used to say liked to be the centre of attention?
