Great man, what a character, RIP Ocker

On Wednesday jan 8th the world lost a truly colourful character and I lost a true friend who nobody could ever replace.goodnight and god bless amigo

Murphy always said Ocker was the best signing he ever made.

I will always remember Ocker with fondness.

On Saturday mornings in the very early 80's, as a kid I trained at Wilderspool and coached by Kevin Ashcroft.

One day I was in the gym afterwards and had my boots, Ocker looked at them and noticed they had worn nylon studs.

He took my boots away with him for a few minutes then returned them back to me with shiny new steel studs.

He made one kid very very happy and many many years later I met him again when he was on his scooter. I got to thank him once again.

Ill never forget that moment for the rest of my life.

Thanks again Ocker and rest peacefully.

Such sad news. Another Wire legend off to that great rugby field in the sky. RIP Ockher.

A million memories, but whenever I hear Ockhers name I can almost smell his room at Wilderspool!

We talk about the game lacking 'character' these days, sadly we have lost a real character here. RIP, thoughts and prayers with his family
