I don’t expect every signing to be a Smoothy or Tevega, but with Cas and Hull strengthening below us and potentially Catalans and Warrington, I was kind of hoping for a bit more than Jack Sinfield and Will Tate.
If they're coming in as first teamers I would agree. Tchamambe has gone on loan so Tate fills a gap for a year, Sinfield is a better back up than Lawford. Agree, as you say, they're both coming to fill out the squad and let's be honest, all teams are all picking from the same small group of players once they've filled their quota spots up and an even smaller group of players who are willing to join a club where
they know they aren't going to start, so it's a balancing act. At least we're starting from a good place where we need to add a few bits of quality to the top 21 players, and also where we can strengthen the depth of the squad as a whole. Whereas some teams are having complete clearouts and having to rebuild, and to some, loads of new signings look more exciting than just needing the odd quality player.

Was told this morning, Sinfield had signed for us for 27 anyway and has pushed to join us early.
Apparently, we have signed Tom Nicholson-Watton, young Leeds prop, he is wanted and under contract but Leeds in need of clearing cap space.
Don`t know too much about him tbh, and think it is an area we are well stacked, but I suppose you can never have too many forwards.
I have a feeling Leeds are clearing space for a certain ex Wakefield second rower...
Why 2027 ? Leeds have already informed everyone he's leaving; it's why Leeds are letting him go, so he can pursue other opportunities. Surely it's got to be for next year if he's coming here. I've also heard the rumour about the young Leeds prop TNW, who was meant to be one of their big prospects for the future. It's good that we're investing in youth, that's if he is coming. We've just signed the young St Helens lad as well, so we've got an eye on developing young British players moving forward, both from our Academy as well as from other teams.

| I wonder how many of these young players would have wanted to come to Trinity a couple of years ago- probably none!

Read the post again mate, I`m saying he had already signed for 2027 prior to Leeds releasing him, he`s just coming a year early essentially.

| Fil:I hear he is on his way to us so what are people's thought's on him ?? Personally I've never rated him and do not believe that he will strengthen us in any way whatsoever. This smacks of another Olly Russell type of signing...as soon as he was announced last year I said that I didn't rate him either and apparently we are now looking to off-load him ?? Plus we have just signed a fullback/half-back - Kian McGann - from Saints too !! If we are aiming to be a top 4 side next season then we can do a lot better than Sinfield. It will be interesting to see what Super League signs him and see how he gets on.I think he needs a lot of game time to improve his game and that means starting in the 13, and not from the bench.

Gotcha, I thought you were saying he's signed for 2027 and he's trying to come early.
