Maybe a statement should be made by the council explaining the Blue Sox debt and why they are refusing to hand over keys to them. |

As long as I am prepared with my peaked cap and sunglasses, it will be fine. Very much like sitting in the main stand at Odsal (but with better rugby league  )
I, like others am a little bit miffed at the lack of official correspondence from the club about the stand. I purchased my season ticket for this stand and paid a premium, over the cost of the skircoat stand, but have found myself sitting in the skircoat stand so far.
The club did originally say they would look at some way of compensating us, but again there has been a lack of communication on the subject.

Contrary to what some people think, we are not just sat in the office ignoring fans, we are actually working really hard to try and get usage of the East Stand. We are in constant communication with the Council, EMC and the Safety Team who are themselves chasing contractors and deliveries etc.
We have letters ready in the office (and have had for a couple of weeks) to be sent out to East Stand (and other) season ticket holders as soon as we have absolute confirmation we are in or not. We are not going to announce anything until we are 100% certain it is or isn't going to happen.
At the moment we will be using the East Stand Changing rooms for the two teams but we are all working with the Safety Team to gain access for supporters. The issue is absolutely nothing to do with rent and I am so dissappointed that one of our fans has raised this issue yet again for arguments to be started. The issues are such as shelving in turnstiles (that we have fixed), ladies toilets not being glazed on the walls, beer pumps and pipes to be fitted, personnel and security training - there are many issues that need addressing in order to receive a safety certificate for our requirements in the stand.
I am sure our supporters would not want us to waste money and time writing out every week to announce it is not open. We will be extremely happy to write out to let you know when it is open as this has been an extremely frustrating time for us also. No compensation has been offered to East Stand season ticket holders yet as we do not know how much needs compensating. At present the difference in pricing between the East and Skircoat stands is £1 a game and until we know how many games you are going to miss we cannot consider any appropriate compensation.

I presume this refers to me. I was only speculating as to why Town will be able to use the stand on the 23rd, but not us on the 21st. We also expected everything to be sorted previous to now - in fact in December - but things never work this way. Town do have different requirements to us i.e they may not be using all of the boxes and function rooms that we have booked out etc etc and the attendance and stewarding factors are different and seeing the work that has taken place day by day - 2 days will make an enormous difference.

Which is a fine and reasonable explanation which, could have been posted on one of the many sites now being used by the club when someone has speculated about the east stand whether it will be open for the 21st? It just felt that the club has kept us all informed so much about what is happening day to day the east stand debate seemed to be skimmed over (purposely or unpurposely) which is always going to lead to speculation/rumours/misunderstandings/etc... |

Now this is where you are going wrong imo, i can't see it being rent related as to why you are not using the stand but the fact that you (presumably someone from the club) mentions their discontent at the rent issue being brought up just screams out that you are in denial, if we wern't paying our rent i as a fan would be demanding to know why, you signed a contract so must honour it unless offered a reduction, say you sign a player on expensive wages who performs to the same rate as a player on lower wages you aren't going to pay "player A" "what you think is right", however much you try and hush down the rent it is an issue that is very much there and clear and as a sporting fan in Halifax who has seen a team go bust and total up massive debts i know communciation with fans is vital |

| I would summise that....
They haven't been able to tell us when it will open, because they dont know 
I mean come on its the real world, suppliers let people down, builders estimates are notoriously vague and once Health and Safety sink their teeth into something they have to be seen to be doing something other than just passing everything.
It'll be ready when its ready Ill settle for Leigh though, with the big home games and hopefully a plum draw in the Cup will soon help us to forget all this.
p.s its a forum so they dont really have to say anything here, although im as guilty as anyone for wanting them to be transparent with us. They are slowly improving to be fair. |
