Agreed - I'd actually say they were quite brave, because they could easily have gone down the path of regurgitating their most commercial album (The Bends) and, with it, becoming very tedious, in the manner that Oasis did after their first two records.... It would probably have made them lots of cash, but it would have become very dull.



Instead, they have a collection of records that are very different, and in their own unique way, all worth a listen... I agree that to some people their material, especially the recent stuff, is very challenging and even unlistenable. However, given a listen with an open mind, there is always something interesting in a Radiohead record.



I think Jonny Greenwood's film work is testimony to the talent that lies within the band.

Been re-listening to a lot of Tool again recently. Such a superb set of musicans, and one of the best bands of the last 30 years.

Agree with that. Tool take the word technical to another level.

I wouldn't put them quite on the same level as Dream Theatre but I do prefer them for sure.

You should try Samsara Blues Experiment. Not quite the same as Tool but, there are some similarities.

Getting into Devin Townsend Project at the moment. He has done some great acoustic stuff recently as well as the louder stuff and his death metal roots with strapping young lad are still there.

What a cracking band they were.

Criss Oliva who used to be guitarist with Savatage until his untimely death in 1993 was a fantastic guitarist. I bet I'm the only Savatage fan on here ?
