I can't see a game that Warrington may find a close match until the last 2 of the season in the fixtures

Saints and Wigan.

The temperature may give something for Warrington to think about in France but seriously that is it.

Our next 2 months of games we ought to win. We don't deserve to be contenders if we don't.

It's very much harder for Warrington to finish top than winning all of their games and the odds for that are 16/1 at best.

Our final few games of the regular season are tough. I would love us to go unbeaten obviously but it will be very tough and require a little bit of Lady Luck on our side.

I'd be very suprised if any team goes unbeaten to the end of the year. There are too many inponderables and everyone is probably one or two injuries away from problems.



Leeds are gonna miss Burrow and I'd expect their pack to start flagging

Wigan have too many injuries and are bound to slip up at some point, even allowing for the quality of their kids

Saints are too reliant on Walsh

Huddersfield have gone backward and Brough is having a very average season



As for us, yes we're a prop short at least. But I'd expect our form in the 2nd half of the season to be an upward trajectory as the youngsters gain more experience and the walking wounded return, so who knows.

Once again your eyesight seems to be failing. I said you "may" get 9/2 and perhaps not even that if Wire do another 30+ to Leeds.

Every team in the comp will lose again before the end of the season. We certainly will. So will Leeds and Wigan.

I wonder if Westwood's impending ban will lengthen our aquatic friend's odds at the bookies ?

It's lovely to win two games in a row and all that but can't we please just delete this thread before too many people from other clubs get onto the fact that it exists ?!!

If Wire beat Leeds and we really intend to do be a

force, we really ought to be beating all these teams before us with our easy run in until then until the end of August.



Of course injury and suspension will play a part and if anyone took care to read my post I did point out that it would hinge on just that with the forwards.



Although no game is a gimme I do however think with our easy run that we will have after this Leeds game we shouldn't really have excuses for getting beat by them. Other than Castleford at home every team until Saints away us below us in the league.



Take a look through the remaining fixtures and which do you think we shouldn't beat on current form.



And Ninearches Westwood has only just come back into the team, we were doing just fine without him also.

Lets get real here, there is more chance of a Daily Mail headline being true than us winning all our remaining matches.



Leeds have one of the strongest sides I have seen for some time, to the extent that they have even been able to discard BJB. They ooze class in the backs, and in 14 games have only conceded 132 points. Wigan have lost a lot of top players but Wayne has drilled his young team to become a super fit set of robots. When they play they run themselves into the ground, sprinting of the defensive line, and putting half the team into every tackle. They look like a column of soldier ants overpowering a larger mammal. Yes, I agree both of them will lose the odd match, but barring a bad run of injuries or them meeting each other, I think both trophies are between these two teams.



We need to recruit (the problem is from where), because we need a nucleus of top quality players to build a team around, and bring on the younger kids. The most I am hoping for / expecting this year is a Wembly visit and 3-4 key signings before the start of next season.

They do Winslade. I was convinced at the beginning of the season that Leeds would sweep the board.

I didn't pay enough attention to the gamble of an ageing squad.



Are Leeds beginning to show the cracks and fatigue from keeping the old guard.

Let's look back at their results when they had to play a team were long levels of intensity mattered.



Saints beat them

Wigan beat them

Hudds drew

Cast lost as Leeds snatched it at the death.

Warrington took it to them and we didn't deserve to get beat follow a terrible game the week before.



I'm not making them up, it's all there, the form line says we should beat Leeds and beat them fairly comfortably.

We have beaten a hapless Catalan, a penalty strewn St Helens that virtually gave us the game in the opening 30 mins and a very poor wakefield side.



And now we could go the season unbeaten... even though we got beat at Bradford 3 weeks ago... obviously we are the form team of the competition.



I for one am looking forward to us winning the grand final.

We must have played awful rugby for the first half of the season to trick other teams into thinking we were not good enough, the second half of the season will be the real Wire and we will steamroll all who come before us......

You can make excuses for every team we play but the bottom line is you can only beat what is in front of you.

if we had beaten Leeds, Wigan and Cas in the last 3 games, you could make a case for us being the form team in the competition.



However, we haven't beaten one of those sides yet.

Not at all. I will be very disappointed if we can't beat Leeds.

But every team other than Leeds Wigan and Castleford could argue have claims we ought to beat easily on current form and on us not losing forwards.
