number 6:
yet go over to Wires' board and they are wanting forwards as they claim to be weak up front, another club signing a player in a position not needed? Would seem then that Salford are still up zcreek without a paddle despite all their insistence that a take over has been completed and money is there, otherwise why sell you best asset at the club? Perhaps he was one of the ones behind the refusals to play and they've got shut, either way the saga of Salford continues. Wonder if we or any other club with available cap and/or quota space will test further Salfords resolve for any other players, following the sale of Sneyd?

| I'd be amazed if we don't go back in for Cross.
Matt Shaw has apparently said Salford got 75K for Sneyd, which won't help with their cash flow issues much.

| Chris71: The Dentist Wilf: You know this is firmly a disgrace for me. I can't believe what it must be like if you're a Salford fan. Fielding weakened teams, selling their biggest asset and fans favourite, failing to pay wages on time, not knowing who has apparently bought your club and knowing that whoever they are they can't get money into this country. It's a real, embarrassment for the game as a whole coming as it does as a coupe by the clubs taking place, the RFL being marginalised by the owners and senior administrators being replaced. I searched on news now for anything across all medias on the Salford situation from the Club itself and .... nothing. Now we hear strong rumours that the players and staff wages were not actually paid by the new owners and instead by the RL out of the remains of their Sky allocation. What is happening? Again nothing confirmed or explained what a blooming mess.
Agree Pete in that it’s a total Horlicks and a poop show both by Salford as a club and the RFL as a governing body. I’d heard it was the RFL that had paid the players at Salford to allow their game at Cas to go ahead. If that is indeed the case then serious questions need to be asked as to the suitability of the people involved at board level and decision making at the RFL as well as the real situation at Salford.
All integrity has now been wiped out for both the League and Cup for this season with what is just another debacle to add to the long ever growing list, and we aren’t even halfway through March.
I understand that IMG have called a crisis meeting of staff as they dont have a column left on their spreadsheet to cover the Salford situation and they dont know what to do A spokeman for the RFL said we are working very hard with our partners IMG to solve this situation which could involve having to introduce larger Spreadsheets

They projected the spreadsheet onto the MKM's TVs to take a closer look but where aghast at the awful pixel rate and we have now been demoted to the Chamoionship.

| At last a comment from the Salford club which doesn't bode well for the future. No funds obviously forthcoming in the near future.
"After communication with the ownership group, the club finds itself in a position where significant funds have been further delayed. In order to field a competitive team that is able to meet the sustainability cap, this decision has been reached in the best interest of all parties.”
Many of the loyal Salford fans are saying tonight that hey are just waiting for the new ownership regime to fall through. As someone said £75,000 won't go far will it??

It was never officially announced but I’m sure I remember a Matt Shaw article saying that he saw with his own eyes proof that clubs would be exempt from quota restrictions for a year to take Salford players. If they’ve not met the terms and conditions to come out of special measures then I don’t see why that wouldn’t still stand.
The obvious one in that scenario would be Lafai for a year as he’s looking to go home at the end of the year anyways. Still think Cross would be a good long term centre option for us, think we’d have a lot of competition for that.
