Good night last night. In no particular order had Newlands (?) Wolvers Ale, a very nice drop, the ever-reliable Acorn Winter Ale and the even-more reliable Saltaire with their superb toffee flavoured Crystal Red.



If it's not for medicinal reasons, why would anyone give up real ale?

You might be interested in an upcoming Meet the Brewer night at the Bluecoat in Rotherham featuring the Thorne Brewery! I would like to think I planted the seed in the manager's mind.

I will let you know the date if any of you are interested, as soon as it is confirmed.

Talking of Thorne Brewery ... I've yet to see the Chairmans Stout anywhere.

Bottles last night ... a few old favourites, Abbot Reserve, Wychwood Hobgoblin, Thwaites Liberation and Lancaster Bomber plus two more from the Barnsley Beer Company ...

Owd Tyke 4.6% (a Ruby Red Ale)



slight preference was for the 'Ruby Red'.

Last time we played Swinton Lions, we popped into a Holts House only about a mile from Sedgley Park. Been trying to work out its name this morning and I think it must have been the Eagle and Child, Higher Lane, Whitefield M45 7EY.



They also do food.
