Not so sure why this thread is on here but I for one will think they will go well and most certainly join us, Catalan, Hull for the fight for 6th to 8th.
Quality half backs and a good set of forwards will give a lot of the big teams problems.

I foresee a turbulent season over at Salford, as there would appear to be no room for a "bedding in" period, and so many new faces may well need half a season to gel. Strength in depth may also find them out when some of the older heads pick up injuries.
I do agree they should be in the mix for the 5-8 slots, but there are plenty of sides with those aspirations before a ball is kicked. I do think the author is right about the bookies being hoodwinked though!

dr frankenstein (or he looks more like the hood from thunderbirds) seems to be shooting his mouth off a lot lately and dictating to the RFL over expansion it will not win him many friends. Ill predict 8th or 9th as hock and chase are over rated

I do agree abought hock and chase Hock is a nutter at times, and has for chase if we had not picked him for England we might have got to the world cup final he looked good in a poor cas side  |

it'll certainly be interesting for Salford fans thats for sure.
MK has stated that he'll break the salary cap but will the RFL bother to check? or dare too lol
its asking a lot for that many new players to gel quick enough to finish up as high as 5th/6th IMO.

You don't really worry about forwards gelling as much, Hock and Hanson have already played alongside each other. It's going to be on their halfbacks where all the pressure is. Personally I think they compliment each other really well but only time will tell.

I'm not clueless but for me chase is very inconsistent. You have to ask if he was that good why hasnt a nrl club come in for him?? Why and if he was that world class why is he playing for salford?? |

I agree and that is not a criticism of Burns.
Chase has beaten Rovers single handed on more than one occasion we have just not been able to deal with him at all. Hock ran riot against us at Widnes last year too. I think it is unwise to dismiss the merits of these players or indeed of Salford though they may suffer from a lack of depth.
I personally wish Rovers had these 2 players they ooze star quality something I think we are short of. |

chases individual flair is at odds to the good of a team. That's the reason I'd not want him |

I wouldn't say I was clueless but I don't see Chase as a great player. He's pretty good and has shown this on many occasions against HKR. I wouldn't be keen on him coming to play for Rovers as I doubt the rest of the team would benefit.
Hock is a good, strong player. Would I want his influence around at Craven Park? No.
Salford have brought in a good 1-17 but a lot of it is ageing and with age comes injuries. Their back end of the squad is not strong enough to compete regularly in the top 8 of this league.

Chase vs Burns is an interesting one. Think it depends on how the rest of the team is doing.
Off the back of a dominant pack Chase can be devastating, however when the going gets tough he tends to disappear and. Burns, on the other hand, can turn games round with his kicking game and calculated risk taking. At the moment with the current Rovers squad (and salary demands) I'd take Burns over Chase.
